Inspire100 is a business acceleration program targeting 100 out of school young girls in Iringa region. The project is equipping the girls with business skills, digital skills, and SRHR knowledge. The project leverages the power of digital tools; social media platforms and mobile phone on the growth of small-scale businesses. The project is also creating awareness on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and nurture new business ideas from the sector.
APRIL - JUNE
Series of meetings with key ecosystem stakeholders and project implementing partners to design interventions and planning for project execution. Inspire100 sprint information sessions with local innovation hubs, youths organizations, LGAs and academic institutions informing them about the project and building partnerships.
JUNE - JULY
100 business ideas (startups) from 100 out of school girls are selected from the large basket of 200+ ideas. The selected ideas join 4 batches of Hack-Weekends, learning to use digital tools for their businesses and exposed to SRH knowledge, understanding SRHR and how to incorporate SRHR message into their social enterprises.
JULY - AUGUST
Ideally, 5 girls from each Hack-Weekend are selected to join the bootcamp making a total of 20 ideas (startups) moving to the bootcamp stage. Ideas joining the bootcamp will receive intensive short period training to further strengthen their ideas. Ideas from this stage will be further screened to select 10 that will join the accelerator as SRHR startups.
SEPTEMBER - JANUARY
The screened 10 ideas are joining the accelerator as SRHR startups. The selected 10 social business ideas are accelerated (capacitated) to build sustainable business models that incorporate SRHR messages. The finalist ideas are presented during the Demo Day giving them a chance to attaining potential partners, sponsors or investors.
The Inspire100 team of judges, mentors, and trainers consist of industry experts who work in the areas of business development, technology for social good, and sexual reproductive health sector. The mentors and trainers will be helping the team to design innovative business models for their social enterprises by incorporating digital tools and SRHR information. The program accepts any idea or small-scale business for the accelerator.
